Hallmarking & Certification Disclosure

At Besotted By Pearls, authenticity, quality, and transparency are central to our craftsmanship. Every piece of jewelry undergoes quality verification procedures before it is dispatched to our customers.

Sterling Silver Hallmarking

Our sterling silver jewelry is submitted for hallmarking through BIS-recognized assaying & hallmarking centres in accordance with applicable Indian regulations.

The hallmark serves as an independent verification of the purity of the precious metal used in the jewelry.

Our silver jewelry is manufactured using 925 Sterling Silver, which contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other approved alloying metals to improve durability and wearability.

Customers may find hallmark markings on the jewellery, which may include:

  • BIS Hallmark.

  • Purity/Fineness Mark (925).

  • Hallmarking Centre Identification Mark.

  • Jeweller's Identification Mark or HUID, where applicable under prevailing regulations.

The placement and appearance of hallmark markings may vary depending on the design, size, and construction of the jewellery piece.

Pearl Certification

To maintain quality standards, selected jewellery pieces may undergo examination and testing by independent gemological or testing agencies.

Where a pearl certificate or testing report accompanies a product, the certificate reflects the findings of the issuing authority at the time of examination.

Such certificates are intended to provide information regarding the tested item and should not be interpreted as a lifetime warranty or guarantee against future changes caused by wear, environmental factors, accidental damage, or misuse.

Natural Characteristics of Pearls

The pearls used in our jewellery are natural or cultured products of nature.

As a result, each pearl is unique and may exhibit natural variations in:

  • Shape.

  • Size.

  • Surface texture.

  • Lustre.

  • Colour.

  • Overtone.

  • Natural growth characteristics.

These variations are not defects and are considered evidence of the individuality and authenticity of genuine pearls.

No two pearls are exactly alike, and slight differences between product photographs and the delivered product should be expected.

Product Images

We make reasonable efforts to accurately represent our jewellery through photographs and descriptions.

However, due to:

  • Natural pearl variation.

  • Handcrafted production methods.

  • Screen and device display settings.

Actual products may vary slightly from website images.

Such differences shall not constitute manufacturing defects.

Hallmarking and Certification Timelines

As many of our jewellery pieces are prepared after an order is placed, additional processing time may be required for hallmarking, certification, and quality inspection prior to dispatch.

Customers acknowledge and accept such processing timelines as part of the manufacturing and verification process.
